Fall Foliage Finally

Visiting Oak Mountain State Park today was lovely. This is the place I practically grew up and many of my fondest memories are with my family adventuring here.

I hiked the white trail and then connected to the red, until I came upon an obstruction in the path of several fallen trees.

I took my mother’s dog Penton with me, which slowed me down since he had so many smells to behold, but it was nice to just take time and enjoy the woods.

There was orange ceilings, yellow tunnels, and burning trees of red. I paused and sat on a rock by a stream to read, reflect, and write.

It was a beautiful, simple morning.
